Services
NetTraffic Services are focused at carriers that are looking to enhance and expand their networks and service offerings to an end-to-end IP transformation. This transformation includes the customer premise, access network, routing and switching network , EMS and NMS systems and application servers for the new services including video, VoIP and data. NetTraffic architects and engineers have lead several of the largest and mid size transformations globally that are now delivering services to over one million subscribers.
For Enterprises NetTraffic will position these companies to enhance their networks to take full advantage of these new IP services. In addition, for large enterprises NetTraffic will enable them to behave as a carrier within their domain and enhance carrier and third party services with internal niche services.
These services cover the following core domains:
Requirements Management
Requirements management is an integral part of each step of any system development and implementation process. Application requirements evolve and are modified as a detailed architectural design progresses with forward and backward traceability maintained from the design phase through verification, validation, and release.
Architecture and Design
•Physical Layout and Interconnectivity Diagrams
•IP Addressing, Subnetting and Port Assignment Schemes
•Routing and Switching Implementation Methodologies
•Access Control List and Firewall Methodologies
•Quality of Service Considerations
•Network Access Strategy
•Capacity Planning and Traffic Shaping
•Network Inventory and Provisioning Strategy
•Bandwidth Management
•Element Management System (EMS) Plan focused at EMS Applications, Data Communications Network (DCN) and required servers and storage
Operations Support System and Business Support System Services
NetTraffic develops and implements Operations Support System (OSS) and Business Support System (BSS) plans. These plans identify all Element Management Systems (EMS), Network Management Systems (NMS) and other related OSS and BSS elements, systems, and processes. The ITU M3100 Telecommunication Network Management (TMN) Model is closely followed to ensure standards compliance.
Based on detailed requirements, services selected, and the underlying network, proper applications are selected from leading vendors to support all operations, administration, maintenance, and provisioning functions required by a customer. CRM, Billing and other BSS systems are selected as part of the overall systems recommendations. NetTraffic offers integration and turn-key implementation services of the systems selected during the requirements and detailed design project phase. The following Documents will be generated from the identified requirements:
•System Architecture and Flow Diagrams
•EMS Plan coordination with NMS Plan
•Integration Plan defined between all systems and data models and schema maps
•Server and other hardware requirements and specifications
•DCN design for BSS and OSS and NMS coordinated with EMS Plan
•Field Deployment Plan with detailed Bill of Materials (BOM)
•Methods and Operational Procedures (MOPs)
Program and Project Management
An established and proven formal project management process based upon Project Management Institute (PMI®) best practices and principles is used for both internal and external product and project planning, management and execution. A gated project cycle development and review process ensures that all project requirements are identified, documented, tracked and manage from initiation through closeout. An overview of project management methodology includes construction and adherence to the following key components:
•Management Plan
•Quality Management Plan
•Configuration Management Plan
•Document Management Plan
•Communication Plan
•Commercial Management Plan
•Change Control Process and System
•Risk Management Plan
•Issue Resolution Process
•Testing and Integration Process
Deployment Services
An acceptable deployment plan based upon the customer’s unique needs is developed which provides the physical installation labor along with a dedicated installation supervisor to maintain quality and consistency for each project.
As part of its standard installation process, NetTraffic can provide the following services based on a project scope of work (SOW):
•Developing project installation plans
•Scheduling NetTraffic installation personnel
•Reviewing the methods and operational procedures (MOPs) and installation plans
•Inspecting and inventorying all installation material
•Assembling and erecting the required cable rack and runways
•Verifying the proper completion of physical hardware installation and cable operations at each phase
•Conducting quality inspections of the physical installation
•Providing “as-build” drawings, daily log, inventory and shipping records
•Initiation start-up and system testing including common controls, peripherals, traffic simulation testing, and signal cable continuity testing
•Inspecting the work area on a regular basis and removing all trash and packing materials to an on-site disposal area provided by the customer
Lifecycle Management Services
Lifecycle management services include:
•Upgrade and maintenance plans for network and OSS and BSS applications based upon supplying vendor roadmaps
•Application migration plans for installing and transitioning to new systems, as newer and more advanced products are available.
•Version control plans for maintaining exacting version controls of all network, OSS, BSS, and information technology (IT) systems.
•Disaster recovery plans identifying strategies and procedures to ensure full survivability of back office applications.
•Security plans to create and implement security rules and processes that provide intrusion protection, access control, virus protection, and access logging.
•Capacity plans ensuring that customers are prepared to meet new system demands.
